KOTA BHARU: Led by the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurs Association President and Founder Dr Shawn Loh Sheng Nian, the delegation members from different backgrounds, including Selayang Welfare Association Yee Aik and Kepong candidate Yee Boh Ping, aimed to observe the harmony and values of community unity in Kelantan with their own eyes.
Most of the members of Dewan Himpunan Pendukung PAS Melaka were arriving in Kelantan for the first time. They expressed their surprise at the preservation of local non-Muslim religions and tolerance of traditional cultures. Including the original daily lives of local non-Muslims such as food, clothing, housing and transportation, and still maintaining pork, alcohol and religious items.
“Many outsiders who have been to Kelantan say that the descriptions they heard about Kelantan are completely different from what they saw with their own eyes.”
“This is what I call ‘seeing is believing’.” He said he was the chairman of the Kelantan Youth, Sports, NGO and Community Solidarity Committee Zamakshari Mohammed.
He received the non-Muslim delegation from Melaka yesterday, who came to Kelantan to witness the culture and life of the local people.
Kelantan is a model of harmony and racial unity, said Dr Shawn Loh Sheng Nian “Before, we only knew Kelantan through social media. But this time they could see it with their own eyes.” “What they saw was very different from what others said,” he explained.
He added that Kelantan’s unity has long been based on mutual respect between different races and cultures, which has made the state peaceful and harmonious. The secret to maintaining peace and security is mutual respect between all races until harmony and unity are achieved.
Kelantan officials expressed their gratitude for the visit and hoped to share this experience with their colleagues in Melaka.
At the same time, Dr Shawn Loh Sheng Nian presented Kelantan officials with a traditional silk embroidered peacock picture with rich Chinese culture, representing the Chinese community, implying that Malaysia continues to have a colorful and diverse life. Ancient people called peacocks “wen birds” because they have “nine virtues”, which symbolize noble character and extraordinary talent, and also reflect their elegant and noble temperament. This means prosperity and family harmony. – HARAKAHDAILY 25/6/2025
