PROJEK penurapan jalan ke bandar Miri kini berjalan lancar dan ada juga jalan yang masih dalam keadaan baik tetapi juga diaspal dengan lapisan tar baru. Penduduk kampung di mana jalan mereka yang masih belum diturap dengan jalan tar atau batu telah berulang kali memohon agar jalan ke rumah mereka diturap sepenuhnya, bukan hanya separuh jalan. Contohnya ialah jalan di Kampung Tukau Jaya yang hanya separuh jalan yang telah diturap dengan tar sementara masih ada jalan masuk ke kediaman penduduk yang belum diturap dengan tar atau batu sepenuhnya.
Adalah lebih baik sekiranya projek peruntukan jalan berturap di bandar yang masih dalam keadaan baik diagihkan ke jalan kampung yang masih berlumpur dan berlubang. Masih terdapat banyak jalan kampung yang memerlukan jalan raya tar sepenuhnya. Kami ingin menekankan bahawa masalah jalan kampung yang belum diturap sepenuhnya harus diberi keutamaan berbanding jalan bandar yang masih dalam keadaan baik.
Kami menggesa pihak-pihak yang berkenaan dapat memperhatikan masalah ini dengan segera. Penduduk kampung masih memerlukan jalan yang baik untuk memudahkan perjalanan mereka, terutama ketika musim hujan di mana jalan kampung berlumpur dan berlubang, ianya boleh merosakkan kenderaan sekiranya tidak berhati-hati. Kerjasama dengan pihak-pihak yang berkenaan untuk menangani masalah ini dengan segera amatlah dihargai.

Give priority to village roads over city roads that are still in good condition
The road paving project to Miri City is now running smoothly and there are also roads that are still in good condition but also paved with a new layer of tar. Villagers where their roads are still unpaved with tar or stone roads have repeatedly requested that the road to their houses be paved completely, not just half way. An example is the road in Tukau Jaya village which is only half paved with tar while there is still an entrance to the residents’ houses which has not been paved with tar or stone completely.
It would be better if the paved road allocation project in the city which is still in good condition is distributed to the village road which is still muddy and potholed. There are still many village roads that need fully tarred roads. We would like to emphasize that the problem of village roads that have not been fully paved should be given priority over urban roads that are still in good condition.

The villagers still need good roads to facilitate their journey, especially during the rainy season where the village roads are muddy and potholed, it can damage vehicles if not careful. Cooperation with the relevant parties to address this issue immediately is greatly appreciated.
