KALABAKAN: PERIKATAN NASIONAL (PN) candidate for the Merotai state seat, Hasan Haris, delivered an emotional speech during the Himpunan Munajat Perdana ahead of polling day for the 17th Sabah State Election (PRN).
Hasan recalled the early days of his campaign, which began with his own efforts, including putting up posters and flags, and described nomination day as one of the most nerve-racking moments of his life.
He emphasised that his candidacy is a heavy trust and expressed hope that the people would stand with him regardless of whether he wins or loses.
“I am afraid that if I win, I may not be able to shoulder this responsibility. But I strengthened myself for this amanah. If I win, please help me. If I lose, please support me,” he said.
In his speech, Hasan outlined PN Merotai’s key offerings, which focus on upgrading village roads, improving internet coverage, enhancing water supply, and implementing flood mitigation measures.
He added that PN Merotai is committed to providing special aid schemes for farmers and smallholders, as well as mobilising mobile clinic services to villages for the benefit of senior citizens, pregnant mothers, and persons with disabilities (OKU).
Hasan also expressed gratitude to campaign teams from across the country and urged everyone to remain steadfast and strengthen their efforts as polling day approaches.
In this 17th state election, Hasan is contesting against three other candidates in Merotai, which has 26,179 registered voters. – HARAKAHDAILY 28/11/2025
