
KUALA LUMPUR – The third victim of the landslide at Taman Bukit Permai 2, Ampang here has been identified as the owner of a house, and his body was pulled out at 10.58 pm.
Ampang Jaya police chief ACP Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the corpse of the man – the second casualty in the landslide incident – was found outside his house.
“The body was taken to the Ampang Hospital for identification purposes,” he told reporters at the scene here tonight.
Mohamad Farouk said due to the landslide, the victim’s house had collapsed completely and moved from its original position.
“Rescuers are now tracking down two more victims, namely an employee of Syarikat Air Selangor Sdn Bhd and an occupant of a house that was destroyed in the landslide,” he said.
Meanwhile, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said the rescue work would continue until tomorrow morning as the weather was good and there was no ground movement.
“If it rains, we will stop operations,” he said.
