TFC fans engage in various initiatives to show support for team

KUALA TERENGGANU – Local football fans who have been deprieved of final action at stadiums on home soil for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, are oozing with excitement with the prospect of watching the FA Cup final on Saturday.

For fans from Terengganu FC especially, the excitement has resulted in fans preparing various initiatives to boost the image and confidence of the team that has not won a title in 11 years.

Apart from preparing creative banners, fans have designed t-shirts with innovative slogans and head scarf to showcase their patriotism and loyalty towards their team which takes on Johor Darul Takzim FC (JDT) at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Saturday.

Terengganu FC fan club president Mohd Isa Che Ariffin said as loyal supporters of their team, fans are willing to fork out their own money to show their support and love for the team.

“About 40 fans, including the ‘Batik Boys and Batik Girls’ will wear specially designed batik apparels during the final at the National Stadium. We are not concerned with efforts and money spent for such initiaitves because our team has qualified for the final after 11 years,” he said when met at the Fan Club’s programme to prepare for the final.

Mohd Isa said 100 buses with 4,000 fans from various fan clubs throughout the state will head to Kuala Lumpur to watch the match.

The figure does not include the thousands who travel with their own transport.
