KUALA TERENGGANU – Terengganu FC (TFC) goalkeeper, Rahadiazli Rahalim hopes he will continue to be trusted to be in the first eleven to prove his capability.
Stiff competition from teammates, Sharmiza Yusoff and Suhaimi Hussin, has also not weakened his spirit to be the top custodian of the team.
Recovering his fitness again after a long lay off due to an ‘anterior cruciate ligament’ (ACL) injury last season, Rahadiazli is optimistic that he would be at the best level to be TFC’s safest pair of hands between the goal posts in the Super League which starts on March 5.
“I was able to play only in five matches in the Super League last season before my lengthy break due the injury.
“I was very disappointed, because of the injury I also missed out on the opportunity to be in action with the national team, but God willing, I will redeem myself through hard work,” he said when contacted today.
Meanwhile, TFC assistant chief coach, Haruddin Omar said the competition to be The Turtles first choice goalkeeper was still open and admitted that it was quite stiff.
He said all the three players in the running showed good performances at training sessions and pre-season matches, which were the platforms to test the compatibility and fitness of the players.
“Apparently, Rahadiazli has got back his true rhythm and performance after a long rest from injury.
“However, it is the chief coach Nafuzi Zain who will decide which player will become the number one goalkeeper after the warm up matches with four Super League teams in the federal capital soon,” he added.
