Japan’s MEXT Scholarship Programme open for application

KUALA LUMPUR – The Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship for the Young Leaders’ Programme (YLP) is now open for application until Sept 15, 2023.

According to the Japanese Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysians who will like to pursue their Master’s degree courses in Japan are invited to apply for the scholarship.

During the term of the scholarship, a monthly allowance of approximately 242,000 yen (RM7,750) (subject to change) will be given, it said.

“Fees for the entrance examination, matriculation and tuition at the universities will be exempted. A round-trip airplane ticket is also provided,” the embassy said in a statement Tuesday.

There are five courses available under the YLP namely Business Administration Course (Master of Business Administration) at Hitotsubashi University; Law Course (Master of Law) at Kyushu University; School of Government Course (Master in Public Administration or Master in Public Policy) at National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS); School of Local Governance Course (Master in Public Administration or Master in Public Policy) at National Graduate Institute for Foreign Policy (GRIPS); and Healthcare Administration Course (Master of Healthcare Administration) at Nagoya University.
