SPM 2021: 249 candidates under MAIWP obtain excellent results

KUALA LUMPUR – A total of 249 candidates from five educational institutions under the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) obtained excellent results in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2021 examination.

MAIWP acting chief executive officer Mohd Nizam Yahya said the five institutions are Sekolah Menengah Agama (SMA)-MAIWP Kuala Lumpur, Sekolah Menengah Integerasi Sains Tahfiz (SMISTA), SMA-MAIWP Labuan, Pondok Moden Al-’Abaqirah (PMA) and Ma’alim Al-Sunan Li Dirasati Al-Sunnah Al Nabawiyyah (MSN).


He said seven students from SMA-MAIWP Kuala Lumpur scored straight As in 11 subjects, 10As (nine) and 9As (eight), while four students from SMISTA obtained 12As, 11As (eight) and 10As (10).

“As for PMA, nine candidates scored straight As in all eight subjects and eight candidates scored 7As while one student from SMA-MAIWP Labuan and MSN obtained 10As and 7As, respectively,” he told a press conference here today.

He also said that SMISTA and MSN recorded an improvement in the School Average Grade (GPS) compared to last year.

“SMISTA recorded a GPS of 2.08 compared to 2.55 in the previous year, while MSN recorded 2.49 compared to 3.38,” he said.
