However, the case was found to be not due to an infection at work.

“A member of Johor Jaya station was confirmed positive for COVID-19. He got the infection from his mother-in-law living with him who in turn was infected from the Kobena Cluster.

“Therefore, on the advice and instruction of the district health department, all members of Johor Jaya station must undergo quarantine at home,” he said in a statement, here, today.

Yahya said as of today, three members of the Johor State JBPM had been infected with COVID-19, from someone in their house.

“JBPM has always emphasised on compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP) at fire stations and operations. So far, no Johor firefighters have been infected with COVID-19 at work, ”he said.

He explained that the operation at BBP Johor Jaya is still running as usual and the equipment at the station has also been sanitised.

Currently, a number of firemen from Pasir Gudang station have assigned to the station for any operation and therefore members of the public need not have to worry.
