KUALA TERENGGANU: The Terengganu State Government, under the leadership of Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, has achieved success that proves PAS’s ability to govern the state and manage government-owned companies effectively.
Ir Ts Nurul Islam Mohamed Yusoff said that Terengganu Incorporated Sdn Bhd (TI), the state’s wholly-owned strategic investment company, has announced its 2024 financial results with a record-high revenue of RM1.75 billion.
The Director of Research and Policy, PAS Central Information Committee, emphasised that this achievement silences those who often belittled PAS’s ability to govern the state and manage GLCs effectively.
“Compared to the period before PAS governed the state, TI’s revenue never once reached RM1 billion. The first time it broke the RM1 billion mark was in 2020, and in 2024 once again a new record was achieved with revenue of RM1.75 billion,” he wrote.
Based on Nurul Islam’s post on his social media, in 2018 TI recorded a pre-tax loss of RM46 million.
“However, after careful planning and detailed strategies, the company bounced back and succeeded in recording a pre-tax profit of RM81.7 million in 2024, the highest so far,” he stated.
He also highlighted the performance of TI’s main subsidiaries such as TDM Berhad, which has recorded profits for five consecutive years with revenue of RM645 million and profit of RM10.2 million in 2024.
“The main contributions came from the plantation sector at RM291.2 million and the healthcare sector at RM354.4 million,” he elaborated on the achievements.
He further stated that EPIC Berhad recorded revenue of RM403.8 million compared to RM344 million the previous year, while after-tax profit increased threefold to RM28.4 million.
In addition, he said, TI also channelled RM12.02 million through corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes throughout 2024 to ensure that the state’s revenue is returned to the people.
