KFA deputy president Datuk Abdul Rahman Abdullah said the matter was agreed upon in the association’s executive committee special meeting held today.

He said the decision was made after taking into account the Kedah Menter Besar’s good track record in managing and resolving several issues that have arisen since taking office as the KFA President.

“This morning, the KFA Executive Committee for the 2018 to 2022 session held a special meeting to discuss the resignation letter dated Sept 25 sent by the KFA President.

“He (Muhammad Sanusi) expressed his intention to resign from the post effective Oct 15 but we unanimously rejected his resignation,” he said after chairing the meeting here today.

Abdul Rahman said there is no solid reason for Muhammad Sanusi to resign as currently Kedah are ranked second in the Super League standings.

Asked on what KFA would do if Muhammad Sanusi maintains his decision to quit, Abdul Rahman said the committee would try to convince him to continue holding the post at least until the end of the season.

“But we hope that he will continue to lead KFA until the end of his term in 2022. We hope he will consider his decision and so far the KFA Executive Committee has not thought of any candidate to replace him,” he said.

Meanwhile, he said KFA is organising a logo design competition which is open to all Kedah fan.

“The previous logo was only for registration and the actual logo will be decided through the competition.

“As for the name of the team, so far we have agreed with Darul Aman FC but if the owner wants to change it, it is up to him,” he said.
