KUALA LUMPUR: PAS today submitted a memorandum to the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Malaysia, His Excellency Valiollah Mohammadi Nasrabadi, as a gesture of solidarity and support for Iran following the recent military attack by the Zionist Israeli regime.
The PAS delegation was led by Chairman of the PAS Central International and Foreign Affairs Committee, YB Dr Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi, and included the Member of Parliament for Bachok, YB Tuan Mohd Syahir Che Sulaiman, and the Member of Parliament for Sik, YB Ustaz Ahmad Tarmizi Sulaiman.
According to Dr Khalil, the attack on Iran was a cruel and excessive act, especially considering it took place while the country was engaged in diplomatic negotiations with world powers regarding its nuclear program under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the United Nations (UN).
“This is clearly an act of aggression against a sovereign nation. Iran has signed international agreements related to its nuclear program, whereas Israel is not bound by any such conventions and continues to act unilaterally and violently,” he said during a press conference following the official meeting at the Iranian Embassy in Jalan U Thant, Kuala Lumpur.
He added that the attack appeared to be driven by Israel’s resentment towards Iran’s unwavering support for the Palestinian struggle and its rejection of the establishment of the illegal Israeli state since 1948.
“Muslims across the globe must reject doubt and suspicion among each other. It is time for us to rise united — regardless of sect, race, or nationality — to collectively stand against this injustice,” he said.
He stressed that targeting civilians and strategic sites in Iran during ongoing international negotiations not only showed Zionist arrogance but also threatened regional stability and violated international law.
During the meeting, the official memorandum from PAS President, Dato’ Seri Tuan Guru Haji Abdul Hadi Awang, was formally handed over and received directly by the Ambassador.
The memorandum condemned the Zionist attack and called on the global Muslim community to respond collectively through diplomatic and advocacy platforms.
In addition, PAS stated that it would continue its efforts by tabling a special motion in Parliament and State Legislative Assemblies under its leadership to condemn the attack. PAS also plans to organize a series of awareness programs, including livestreams, lectures, forums, and public discussions, to strengthen public understanding of the issue.
“God willing, we will not remain silent. Oppression must be met with the voice of justice and unity of the ummah. This is not just a bilateral issue — it is a matter of universal human dignity,” Dr Khalil emphasized. – HARAKAHDAILY 18/6/2025
