KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Football League (MFL) has decided to change the venue and date for tomorrow’s Kedah-Melaka Super League match to Kuala Lumpur on Monday because of concerns over the COVID-19 situation in Kedah.

MFL chief executive officer Datuk Ab Ghani Hassan said the match, which was supposed to be held at Stadium Darul Aman, Alor Setar, will now be played at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium in Cheras.

He said Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor and Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Sulaiman Md Ali had agreed to the venue change, which was requested for by the Melaka Football Association (MUSA).

“For the smooth running of the match, both teams have agreed to play in Kuala Lumpur on Oct 5,” he said in a statement today.

The match had already been postponed from Oct 2 to tomorrow because Melaka had to undergo quarantine following their return from Sabah on Sept 28.
