KUALA LUMPUR – The Five Power Defence Arrangements (FPDA) member nations will hold a joint military exercise in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore from tomorrow until April 1, said a statement by the Joint Forces headquarters today.
“Eksesais Bersama Shield 2022” is an exercise involving the joint forces of the FPDA — Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
“Besides the waters, land and air of Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, the exercise will also involve the waters and air of the Malaysian exclusive economic zone in the South China Sea.
“For the duration of the exercise, there will be active flight activity in the airspace of Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore,” the statement also said.
During the period, there will be low-flying military aircraft from Malaysia and Singapore through parts of the Malaysian airspace, especially in Johor and the training area in the South China Sea.
Residents and the community around the training areas are advised not to be anxious and concerned if they see military planes flying low during this period.
