KUANTAN – The Regent of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah wants all tahfiz centres in Pahang to be properly and professionally managed so that the welfare of students is always taken care of.
He said emphasis must always be given to the safety aspects to prevent any untoward incident and ensure smooth running of the learning sessions.
Pahang currently has more than 100 private tahfiz centres.
“Having a large number of tahfiz centres, but they are poorly managed with parts of the buildings are dilapidated and the welfare of students is not taken care of is not something I proud of. Therefore, the opening of a new tahfiz centre must be thoroughly reviewed.
“The existing tahfiz centres must also be constantly inspected for the benefit of all parties,” Tengku Hassanal said at the presentation ceremony of Maahad Tahfiz Negeri Pahang (MTNP) 2021 Excellence Award, here today. Also present was Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.
Tengku Hassanal hoped that the MTNP development model could be used as a benchmark in shaping the future of tahfiz institutions in Malaysia.
“I am also very pleased to know that MTNP has now offered tahfiz programmes at the pre-school and primary school levels.
“This is good news for all the people of Pahang, especially those who want their children to become a huffaz (those who memorise the Quran). Apart from deepening their knowledge of the Quran, the students are also encouraged to achieve academic excellence,” he said.
At the ceremony, Tengku Hassanal presented certificates to 57 MTNP students for their outstanding achievements.
