KUALA LUMPUR – Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) is all set to host its 23rd Convocation and Convocation Festival or better known as ConvoFest.
UTP in a statement said the convocation scheduled for two days on Oct 29 and 30 will witness a total of 1,074 undergraduate and 312 postgraduate students receiving their scrolls.
“However, this convocation is not solely about recognising the remarkable achievements of UTP’s graduates. It also extends an invitation to the public and the surrounding community to join in the festivities at ConvoFest, a three-day celebration spanning from Oct 28 to 30,” it said.
Meanwhile, UTP 23rd Convocation Organising Committee Chairman Shamsina Shaharun expressed the university’s enthusiasm for the upcoming convocation and ConvoFest.
“The convocation symbolises the culmination of hard work and dedication not only for our graduates but for the entire UTP community.
“As for ConvoFest, it is an opportunity for us to celebrate together with the university’s surrounding community and showcase the spirit of unity and achievement,” she said.
The two-day convocation ceremony will be graced by UTP Chancellor Tan Sri Dr Mohd Hassan Marican, who will also present the scrolls to the graduates.
UTP pro chancellors Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik and Tan Sri Zaharah Ibrahim, as well as Petronas chairman Tan Sri Mohd Bakke Salleh, UTP Board of Directors chairman Datuk Bacho Pilong, UTP vice-chancellor Prof Ts Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib and UTP board members will also attend the event. – Bernama
