Juventus want another Manchester City player, after Gundogan interest

Italian outlet CMW claim Juventus are showing interest in Manchester City defender Nathan Ake – only 24 hours after reports emerged that the Old Lady wanted to sign Ilkay Gundogan from the Premier League champions.

Ake, 27, is being linked with a Manchester City exit this summer after managing just 40 appearances in two seasons for Pep Guardiola’s side. With the World Cup incoming, he will want to prove he deserves to start for the Netherlands.

Other reports claim that Manchester City have accepted a £45million bid from Chelsea for Ake. A move that would see Ake return to Chelsea. Tottenham are also supposedly showing interest in the left-footed centre-back.

Now, Juventus are also in the mix for Ake – even if he is about to join Chelsea. It comes after the same outlet claimed that Juventus want Gundogan. The German midfielder is unlikely to sign a new contract at The Etihad.

With Giorgio Chiellini leaving Juventus, and Matthijs de Ligt on his way to Bayern Munich, a move to Juventus would be a good move for Ake. He would get plenty of game time at a big club ahead of the World Cup.

Tottenham’s interest is likely to have waned after the signing of Clement Lenglet from Barcelona. Of course, Chelsea now have Kalidou Koulibaly, while Manchester City have John Stones, Aymeric Laporte and Ruben Dias.

So, a move to Juventus suits Ake, and Ake suits Juventus. Whether Juventus are ready to meet Chelsea’s bid of £45million for the Dutch defender remains to be seen.
