“Apart from arts, sports and cultural activities, various other activities have been lined up, including a student film festival and a dinner which will be graced by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Sultan of Perak,” he told Bernama after a breaking of fast event with media and strategic partners here today.

Also present was National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) chief executive officer Prof Dr Md Nasir Ibrahim.

Md Amin said Finas as UPSI’s strategic partner, will join hands to organise the inaugural student film festival this August.

“It aims to give more visibility to the public about the 100 years of UPSI and at the same time highlight young talents, especially in the production of feature films, short videos and documentaries,” he said.

The breaking of fast event was held to appreciate the university’s strategic partners and the media which had helped improve the feasibility of UPSI, which is among the centre of automotive research.

Currently in the 200th position of the QS World University Ranking by Subject, UPSI is located within the Automotive High-Tech Valley (AHTV) region.
