KEMAMAN – Terengganu Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, has revealed that he remains unaffected by personal attacks and accusations directed at him during the Kemaman by-election (PRK) campaign.
He also acknowledged that PAS, his political party, remains undeterred by such attacks, and their focus is on diligently working to defend the parliamentary seat.
Samsuri expressed his nonchalant attitude towards personal attacks, stating, “It’s okay, let’s leave it (personal attacks). We are not affected by those attacks; the important thing is that we focus on work and will work harder, God willing. ‘No worries’.”
Addressing the accusations thrown at him, he noted that the party machinery is prepared to address any issues such as slander and inaccurate information.
He emphasized their commitment to dealing with such matters and continuing their efforts in the election campaign.
When questioned about his campaign strategy, Samsuri, who is being challenged by former Malaysian Armed Forces Commander General (R) Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor representing Barisan Nasional (BN), mentioned said he has his own approach to campaigning, focusing on a more personalized touch rather than a large-scale campaign.
Regarding concerns about potential flooding on the voting day, scheduled for December 2, Samsuri deferred to the Election Commission (EC), stating that the EC would decide on appropriate measures.
He expressed confidence that voters, both committed and undecided, would turn out to cast their votes despite any challenges posed by adverse weather conditions.
