KUALA LUMPUR – PAS Deputy President Dato Sri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has called for authorities to take action against a PKR Member of Parliament, Sim Tze Tzin, who is accused of frequently interfering in Islamic matters, in this case polygamy, by attributing them to PAS teachings.

Tuan Ibrahim clarified that polygamy, discussed during a debate in the Dewan Rakyat, is permitted by Islamic law and Sharia.

He criticized Sim Tze Tzin for claiming that polygamy was a PAS teaching and deemed the comments as rude.

The Kubang Kerian MP expressed concern over Tze Tzin’s repeated interventions in religious matters and urged relevant authorities to take action against him.

Tuan Ibrahim stressed that the issue of polygamy is not solely about PAS teachings but is rooted in religious principles accepted by Islam.

Tuan Ibrahim highlighted the potential to create tension among Muslims due to Tze Tzin’s remarks and insisted that this is not a matter exclusive to PAS but pertains to religious rules.

He called for relevant authorities’ intervention to address the situation and prevent statements that may offend Muslims.

The call for action comes in response to Tze Tzin’s comments on social media, where he allegedly claimed that PAS teachings do not permit concerts by artists such as Coldplay, Billie Eilish, Blackpink, but instead focus on matters related to polygamy.

Tze Tzin has since deleted the posting.
