KUALA NERUS – Terengganu FC (TFC) players have been reminded not to repeat silly mistakes that could cause the team to lose points when they face Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) at the Paroi Stadium tomorrow night.

Assistant Head Coach, Badrul Afzan Razali said the Turtles need to take their defeat to Kedah Darul Aman (KDA) FC on March 2 as a valuable lesson in order to return home with three points.

He said TFC’s first victory (in this season’s Super League) over PDRM FC last Saturday should not make the players too comfortable and that it is necessary to improve the quality of their game to ensure that the winning momentum continues in the next match.

“We have to be careful with Negeri Sembilan because they have experienced players… furthermore they have home ground advantage.

“I hope the players can focus from the beginning to the last minute of the game. Don’t repeat the same mistakes in Kedah that caused us to be punished with a narrow defeat,” he said when met at the Gong Badak Sports Complex here yesterday .

Badrul Afzan said that for tomorrow night’s match, TFC will most likely retain the combination of Jordan Mintah and Adisak Kraisorn in attack.

He said this was because Mintah, who was fielded for the first time in the match against PDRM FC, had shown seriousness and high commitment despite failing to score any goals.

“But we have to wait for the head coach to decide the starting line-up either today (yesterday) or tomorrow (today). We need to see the performance of the players during training before making the final decision,” he said.

Meantime, he also congratulated young player Syafiq Ismail for being selected to be on the reserve list for the Harimau Malaya (national squad) centralised training camp.

“This is the first time Syafiq is listed in the senior squad. It is a motivation for him and the Terengganu team.

“I hope he will be called up so as to have the opportunity to gain experience at a higher level,” he said. – Bernama
