Mohd Daud said he was confident Mohd Nafuzi could shoulder the responsibility of managing the KDA FC team well, based on his experience and impressive record of building a successful football team.

“We put our full trust in him to select the players and find new talents that can be absorbed into the team. So I urge KDA FC fans to give Mohd Nafuzi time to build a formidable and respected team.

“The total number of players for next season is 25 and their names will only be announced later. Seventeen players from the 2022 season have not yet been offered new contracts for the new season,” he said here today.

Meanwhile, Mohd Nafuzi, who played with the Kedah team from 2007 to 2009, said he was grateful to the top management of KDA FC for the faith and opportunity to guide the Sang Kenari squad.

“It is not easy to land this opportunity to lead Kedah, after discussions with the management of KDA FC, I am indeed yearning and excited to move to ‘Bumi Jelapang Padi’ (rice bowl of the country) and I pledge my best for the success of the team.

“My plan is to groom a new breed of Kedah youngsters because it is well known that Kedah has a fabulous line-up of old and new players that are much feared. As for the line-up for next season, I will make the selection taking into account important aspects to ensure that Kedah grow stronger,” he said.

Earlier, Mohd Daud witnessed the signing ceremony of the KDA FC head coach’s contract and the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between KDA FC, represented by Khamal Idris, and Koperasi Anak Kedah Berhad (KAKB) represented by its chairman Muhammad Edi Soffi Ramli.

The MoU signed with KAKB is to establish business cooperation for one year through a marketing strategy to generate income and contribute to the funding of KDA FC operations. – Bernama
