“Priority will be given to prospective pilgrims who are listed to perform the pilgrimage in 2023 and also those who were unable to participate before following to the postponement of the pilgrimage for two years due to COVID-19.

“However, the basic course is also open to all Malaysian Muslims who are interested in deepening and equipping themselves with knowledge related to haj and umrah,” TH said in a statement today.

It said the course will be held every weekend starting from the month of Rabiulakhir and is the first level haj course that prospective pilgrims must follow.

The modules emphasise the philosophy, history, pillars of haj and umrah, obligatory matters of haj and umrah as well as matters related to women’s issues.

“TH believes that through KAH, prospective pilgrims will not only be able to learn about haj, but also about personal skills, including health care and hygiene, in addition to appreciating the concept of ‘istito’ah’ which is an obligation in performing haj,” according to TH.

Prospective pilgrims who are interested only need to register at the mosques and the course schedule is available on TH official website at www.tabunghaji.gov.my. – Bernama
