“I think it would be a dream of any team to beat JDT since they have won the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah trophy since 2017, and when we meet them again, I hope our players can give them a run for their money,” he was quoted in a statement issued by the team.

Previously, JDT defeated Kedah twice in two Charity Shield matches — 2-1 win in 2018 and a 1-0 win last season and both matches took place at the Larkin Stadium and the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, respectively.

In this regard, Aidil Sharin hopes that the Red Eagles can maintain their performances throughout the 2021 season.

Recently, the MFL board of directors has decided to give a slot to Kedah to play in the Charity Shield match.

This following the cancellation of the FA Cup and also the Malaysia Cup due to COVID-19.

Traditionally, the Super League winner will meet the FA Cup winner in the Charity Shield match which is the curtain raiser for the M-League.

In the MFL statement on the 2021 M-League calendar today, the Super League and Premier League, are scheduled to start on Feb 27 and 28, respectively.
