Delivery rider receives new motorbike from Selangor royal

SHAH ALAM – Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin has donated a new motorcycle to a female food delivery rider whose motorbike was stolen in Batu Caves, recently.

Istana Selangor in a post on Selangor Royal Office Facebook page today stated that Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin’s police escort Inspector Noor Hidayu Aziz presented the personal gift to Nur Athirah Latiff.

Through the post which was accompanied by a photograph Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin said she felt sorry and was moved after learning how Nur Athirah had been hampered by ill luck.

She hoped that with the new motorcycle Nur Athirah would be able to get back to work and help her family.

Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin said that amid the current situation when people are under great stress, the community should be more humane and considerate adding that she would pray to seek Allah’s blessings and protection for all.

News about Nur Athirah’s misfortune had attracted the attention of netizens after it made its round on social media since last Wednesday.

Many expressed their sympathies to the Batu Caves lass, who had been working as full time food delivery rider to support her mother and two siblings.
