SIK – The Kedah Football Association (KFA) has finally settled the salary arrears owed to their players and team officials amounting to RM3.8 million.

KFA president Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor confirmed this Nov 1, adding that the arrears were for the months of April, May and June of this year.

He hoped this would motivate the players to do their best when they take on Pahang in the first round of the Malaysia Cup competition at the Darul Aman Stadium in Alor Setar on Nov 6.

“I am confident that our team, under the guidance of head coach Aidil Sharin Sahak, can beat Pahang,” he told reporters after handing over the letter of appointment to the chairman of the Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) at Dewan Al-Hana here yesterday evening.

He was commenting on the Malaysia Cup draw that was held this morning, with Kedah drawn to meet the Elephants in the first knockout round.

His confidence also stems from the fact that the Red Eagles had proven their capabilities by finishing second in the recently-concluded Super League.
