RIYADH – The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Sunday issued several royal orders with regard to a reformation of Senior Scholars Council, Saudi Arabia’s highest religious body.
According to a report by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the royal order appointed Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh, Mufti of Saudi Arabia, as the Senior Scholars Council’s President.
He also named Dr Mishaal bin Fahim bin Mohammed Al-Sulami as Vice Speaker of the Shura Council and Dr Hanan bint Abdurrahim bin Mutlaq Al-Ahmadi as Assistant Speaker of the Shura Council.
The royal order also includes the new appointment of Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Luhaidan as Chairman of the Supreme Court, and Sheikh Ghaiheb bin Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Ghaihab as an advisor at the Royal Court.
