YADIM inks MOU to enhance dakwah activities

PUTRAJAYA – The Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (Yadim) today signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with 11 institutions of higher learning (IPTs) and one pondok institution, to collaborate on enhancing dakwah related activities.

The IPTs involved are Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Mara, Universiti Tun Hussien Onn Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia and the International Islamic University Malaysia.

Others are the Universiti Multimedia Malaysia, Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor and Kolej Profesional Baitulmal Kuala Lumpur, as well as Pertubuhan Muafakat Pondok SeMalaysia.

In the ceremony witnessed by Higher Education Minister Datuk Dr Noraini Ahmad, the MoUs were inked between the representatives of the respective institutions and Yadim, represented by its president Nasrudin Hassan.

Noraini in her speech said Yadim’s willingness to include academic institutions in the development of dakwah activities was a testament to their capabilities, and the important role they could play in bringing the ummah and country forward.

Meanwhile, Nasruddin said the cooperation aimed at incorporating academicians from various fields to strengthen and diversify dakwah activities in terms of research, publication, media, student leadership, community service, training and talent development.

“We are confident that the cooperation, which will be strengthened, will benefit all and elevate Islam as well as boost dakwah initiatives in the country,” he said in a press conference after the event.
