KUALA LUMPUR – The Super League match between Kedah and Sabah at Darul Aman Stadium, Alor Setar on Sept 19 has been postponed and moved to Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium in Cheras, here on Sept 21.

Malaysian Football League (MFL) chief executive officer Datuk Ab Ghani Hassan said Kedah had requested for a change in venue and date as Darul Aman Stadium is located in Kota Setar district which had been declared as an area under Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

He said the decision was made in line with the directive of the National Security Council (MKN) on EMCO in the district effective Sept 11 to 25.

“The changes were made after taking into consideration all aspects such as the official broadcaster, MFL commercial as well as the media and would not involve other matches,” he said in a statement issued by MFL Sept 15.

In this regard, Ab Ghani praised the Sabah team for agreeing to the changes in the interest of all involved.

Kedah are in the second spot with 13 points while Sabah are in the 11th place out of 12 teams after collecting six points from seven matches so far.
