“The EMCO involves more than 330,000 residents and we cannot afford to locate each one of them, that’s why we ask them to contact PKOB. Once the complaints are received, we will send them aid in the form of basic necessities such as rice and sugar.

“The PKOB has been in operation since the first day of the EMCO implementation and so far we have received 20 calls requesting for food assistance. Residents can contact PKOB at 04-7028070,” he told reporters at Wisma Darul Aman here today.

Earlier, Muhammad Sanusi who is also Kedah PAS deputy commissioner handed over a donation of RM63,556, raised during the 66th PAS Muktamar (general assembly) yesterday to Kota Setar District officer, Datuk Mohd Asri Redha Abdul Rahman to help ease the burden of residents in the EMCO area.

Meanwhile, he reminded members of the public who wish to help the affected residents not to simply enter the EMCO areas to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection.

“…for example, the administrative EMCO enforced on one zone in Amanjaya has been extended due to the relaxation given,” he said.
