KUALA LUMPUR – Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), through the Environment Division of the Health and Environment Department, today issued 22 compound notices for various offences in an anti-litter operation conducted around Bandar Manjalara, here, starting at 10 am Aug 13.
In a statement, DBKL said the compounds were issued to members of the public, business operators and owners of premises who violated the rules under the Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974.
Four compounds were issued under Section 46 (1) (b) of the act for covering or obstructing open drains or aqueducts by the roadside without written permission from the mayor of Kuala Lumpur and one compound under Section 46 (1) (d) for placing trade items at public areas.
“Thirteen more compounds were issued under Section 47 (1) (a) for placing or disposing garbage, dust, ash, carcasses and trash bins in public places, and four compounds under Section 47 (1) (d) for dumping, spilling, staining (with blood) or disposing liquid waste in public places,” it said.
The anti-litter operation will continue periodically to ensure that business operators, owners of premises and the public will adhere to the rules and practise cleanliness.
