KOTA KINABALU – Sabah police are in the midst of tracking down four individuals, including a woman, believed to be involved in several cases of fraud and criminal breach of trust.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Zaini Jass said the first suspect was Adward Saatah, 46, of Sandakan, wanted by the police to assist in the investigation into a fraudulent road maintenance project in Tongod in 2018 which caused a loss of RM50,000.
“In the same year, the suspect was also believed to be involved in a case of the sale of a non-existent land in Kampung Karamuok, Tongod which caused a loss of RM100,000,” he told a press conference at the Sabah Police Contingent headquarters in Kepayan here Aug 4.
Zaini said the second individual wanted by the police was Hendry Chin Su Fook, 41, who was involved in a criminal breach of trust involving money from the sale of groceries belonging to a company worth RM24,272.40 in 2010.
Those with information on the suspects should contact investigating officer Insp Mary Anak Jembun at 019-8389886. Zaini said the third individual was Wong Tze Yuen, 46, who was believed to have taken money from his employer amounting to RM371,315.08 from the sale of cigarettes in 2010.
Meanwhile, Hasmah Taruddin, 46, is also wanted by the police for suspected involvement in a case of passport application fraud in 2010 which caused a loss of RM2,000.

In a related development, Zaini said police arrested a 43-year-old man at a house in Taman Megah Ria, Tawau for growing ganja plants yesterday.
He said in the 5.30 am raid, police seized 12 ganja plants with a height of between 120 and 198 centimetres.
“During the raid, police also seized a transparent plastic believed to contain cannabis estimated at 29.52 grammes, 52 bullets and two vehicles as well as a motorcycle worth RM205,000,” he said, adding that the suspect was remanded for seven days until Aug 10.
Zaini said based on the initial investigation, the suspect bought the seeds of the plants in Selangor before being brought into the state.
